Pepeliaev Group’s delegates took part in the 18th China International Industry Fair in Shanghai

On 2 November, within the framework of the event, Pepeliaev Group’s delegates held a seminar titled ‘How to Build a Plant in Russia: legal and practical aspects’. Rustem Ahmetshin, Senior Partner, moderated the seminar.

In his speech, Pepeliaev Group’s Partner Ilya Bolotnov highlighted what should be taken into account when a corporate structure is established and a project is financed. He also covered the most important aspects of hiring staff. 

Natalia Stenina, Head of Pepeliaev Group’s Land Law, Real Estate and Construction Practice, and Head of the firm's Environmental Group, spoke about how to choose a land plot for a plant, and about customs and tax preferences applicable within special economic zones. She then touched on how a facility is commissioned, how title is registered and how industrial safety issues are regulated in Russia. 

The representatives of Sverdlovsk Region also took part in the seminar. They went into detail about regional investment policy and the conditions for granting benefits. Chinese business representatives, in turn, described their experience of developing businesses in Russia. 

At the invitation of the Department of Commerce, Pepeliaev Group’s delegates also visited Changchun, Jilin Province, to hold a presentation for local entrepreneurs who are interested in entering the Russian market.
