On 17 April 2020 the State Duma in the third reading adopted draft law No. 685368-7 which introduces significant amendments to the current article 9.1 of the Bankruptcy Law, regulating the application of the moratorium on bankruptcy and other significant restrictions with respect to a wide range of persons.
Pepeliaev Group advises that, on 30 April 2020 the Praesidium of the Russian Supreme Court (the “Supreme Court”) approved a Review in which, among other things, it explained certain issues of the application of legislation concerning the granting of deferred payments to a tenant and the reduction of rent in connection with the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Russian Federation.

On 30 April 2020, the Russian Supreme Court (the “Supreme Court”) approved additional Review No. 2 of selected issues of case law associated with the application of legislation and measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Russian Federation.

On 30 April 2020 the Praesidium of the Russian Supreme Court approved its Review No. 2 of certain issues of case law associated with the application of the legislation and measures on preventing the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Russian Federation (“Review No. 2”).

By Decree No. 294 of the Russian President dated 28 April 2020 the restrictive measures aimed at combating the coronavirus have been extended until 11 May 2020.

The Russian Federal Tax Service has published Letter No. ED-20-8/53@ dated 27 April 2020 according to which the suspension of measures for the collection of tax debt has been extended until 31 May 2020.
