On 30 April 2020, the Russian Supreme Court (the “Supreme Court”) approved additional Review No. 2 of selected issues of case law associated with the application of legislation and measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Russian Federation.

On 30 April 2020 the Praesidium of the Russian Supreme Court approved its Review No. 2 of certain issues of case law associated with the application of the legislation and measures on preventing the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Russian Federation (“Review No. 2”).

By Decree No. 294 of the Russian President dated 28 April 2020 the restrictive measures aimed at combating the coronavirus have been extended until 11 May 2020.

The Russian Federal Tax Service has published Letter No. ED-20-8/53@ dated 27 April 2020 according to which the suspension of measures for the collection of tax debt has been extended until 31 May 2020. 

On 28 April, the Russian President signed another Decree, the third, extending the regime of non-working days for the period from 6 May until 8 May 2020 inclusive. 

Pepeliaev Group advises that the legislation on combating the legalisation of the proceeds of crime has been amended in connection with registrars being granted permission to remotely open and maintain personal accounts of owners of securities.
