In April 2017, partners from Pepeliaev Group undertook another business mission to China. During their visit, they staged seminars for Chinese business figures in Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. The business mission was arranged with the support of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation and featured senior partner Rustem Ahmetshin along with partners Natalia Stenina and Yuri Vorobyev. 

The Arbitration Court of the Association of European Businesses was created as an independent permanent arbitration institution operating on the basis of the New York Convention “On the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards” dated 10 June 1958. The AEB emphasises that international arbitration courts are crucially important for the economic and legal systems when multilateral and bilateral legal disputes are resolved. Many countries have not signed mutual legal assistance treaties and/or enforcement treaties. For this reason a resolution of a state court of one country is often not enforceable in another country. Awards of international arbitration courts, such as the Arbitration Court of the AEB, are enforceable in each member state. 

Our IP Practice has improved on last year's performance, making the leap to Tier 2. In the opinion of the researchers, the team is ‘quick and attentive [...] it recently represented the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation in a dispute pertaining to the unlawful exhibition of copyrighted paintings.’

Pepeliaev Group has made striking progress in the Chambers Europe 2017 ratings. The firm’s IP Practice features in Band 2, an upwards move of one band in comparison with last year. Our Bankruptcy Practice also showed improved results, reaching Band 5. 

Acting for FIFA, they assisted in drafting two Decisions of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
