Anton Nikiforov is leaving Pepeliaev Group

After 22 years with the firm, partner Anton Nikiforov is leaving Pepeliaev Group. Over this period, Anton has travelled a long path of professional development, moving from associate to a partner in the tax practice.

Together with one of the largest Chinese law firms, Pepeliaev Group is implementing an exchange programme for lawyers which is aimed at exchanging practical experience, immersing them in specific cases, developing cross-cultural communications and contacting potential clients. Our partner in this programme is a major Chinese law firm which has more than 1,000 lawyers in 40 offices throughout China and several representative offices abroad. The firm has been awarded a number of sector-based awards and holds leading positions in Chinese and international rankings.

Sergey Pepeliaev spoke at a meeting of the Coordination Council of 'Business Russia', with Alexander Novak also taking part Sergey Pepeliaev, Managing Partner of Pepeliaev Group, took part in an extended meeting of the Coordination Council of 'Business Russia', the association of entrepreneurs, which was held on 27 March 2025. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, also participated in the event. 

During the Russian Federal Tax Service’s conference in Kazan, Pepeliaev Group’s experts proposed a number of measures to tackle pressing issues that taxpayers are facing Pepeliaev Group's lawyers participated in the research to practice conference dedicated to: “Conflicts in tax relationships and ways to mitigate them”. The event, which was held in Kazan on 20 March 2025, was organised by the Russian Federal Tax Service jointly with Lebedev Russian State University of Jurisprudence.

The case of VimpelCom PJSC has won in the “Administrative Dispute of the Year” category in Legal Insight's The CASE research The court dispute of VimpelCom PJSC vs The Russian Federal Tax Service has been acclaimed as the case of 2024 in the “Administrative Dispute of the Year” category in Legal Insight's The CASE research. In the case, VimpelCom PJSC was represented by a team from Pepeliaev Group that included partner Rustem Ahmetshin and senior associate Alexander Kuznetsov.
